Duct Cleaning in Marietta, GA

Living in a home with dirty air ducts can have a significant impact on both air quality and your family's overall well-being. Over time, dust, allergens, and even mold can accumulate in the ductwork, leading to a circulation of unclean air that contributes to respiratory issues and allergens in the home.

The unseen contaminants that proliferate dirty air ducts can settle on surfaces, exacerbating allergies and triggering asthma attacks, while also causing increased wear and tear on HVAC systems, which can lead to higher energy bills. Keeping the air ducts clean in your home is essential for maintaining a healthy living environment and ensuring that the air you breathe inside your home is as fresh and clean as possible.

Fortunately, working with a trusted duct cleaning company - like American Air LLC - can solve your air quality issues quickly and effectively.

Everything You Need to Know About Duct Cleaning in Marietta, GA

Though many homeowners enjoy tackling DIY projects, air duct cleaning is not a task you should handle on your own. This process is intricate and requires a deep understanding of HVAC systems, along with specialized tools to do it right.

It's worth noting that "air duct cleaning" is somewhat of a misnomer; in reality, it's essential to clean the entire HVAC system. If all components aren't addressed, you risk recontaminating the system, which can undermine the benefits of the cleaning. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association strongly advises cleaning the whole HVAC system for the best results. At American Air LLC, our duct cleaning experts follow this guidance and are highly qualified to clean:

  • Air Ducts
  • Drain Pans
  • Coils
  • Air Plenum
  • Grills
  • Registers
  • Heat Exchangers
  • Air Filters
  • Blower Motors and Assemblies
  • Air Cleaners

The most effective way to clean an HVAC system and its ductwork is through a method known as source removal. This involves taking out accumulated dirt and debris and requires the expertise of a professional air duct cleaning company, like American Air LLC.

As the vacuum pulls air through the system, tools like brushes, air whips, and compressed air nozzles are inserted into the ducts to dislodge any stubborn debris clinging to the interior surfaces. Once loosened, the debris is sucked through the ducts into an advanced vacuum system for efficient removal.

Why Should You Have Your Air Ducts Professionally Cleaned?

You don't have to be a graduate from Kennesaw State University Marietta Campus near Marietta to know that the air quality in your home is important. One of the key aspects of keeping your air quality pure is keeping your air ducts cleaned.

Just as surfaces in your home gather dust and dirt over time, your air ducts can accumulate pollutants as well. Daily activities generate contaminants like bacteria, pet dander, and mold, which are pulled into your HVAC system and recirculated through the ductwork multiple times a day. This constant circulation can lead to a significant buildup of grime.

To make the situation worse, rodents and insects may invade your ducts, entering through chewed openings or gaps. Once inside, they treat the ductwork like a highway, leaving nests, droppings, and unpleasant odors behind. These waste materials can spread bacteria into your home, ultimately affecting the air quality you breathe.

Dirty air ducts can contribute to many health and home-related issues, including:

  • Mildew and Mold Growth
  • Debris and Dust Accumulation
  • High Energy Bills
  • Reduced HVAC Lifespan
  • Inconsistent Airflow
  • Respiratory and Allergy Issues
  • Unpleasant Odors
  • Pest Infestations

Getting your air ducts cleaned correctly can significantly enhance the quality of the air inside your home, lower the risk of health issues, save on energy costs, and extend the lifespan of your HVAC system.

5 Tips for Improving the Indoor Air Quality of Your Home

Keep these tips in mind to help ensure that your home's air is as pure as possible:

Clean-Your-Home

Clean Your Home

This one may seem like a no-brainer, but it's very important. Regularly dust, vacuum, and mop your home to reduce the buildup of dust, pet dander, and other pollutants. Pay special attention to carpets, upholstery, and drapes where these allergens can accumulate.

Humidity-Check

Keep Humidity in Check

High humidity levels can promote mold and mildew growth, which can negatively impact air quality. Use a dehumidifier in your home to maintain indoor humidity levels between 30-50%.

Invest-Purifiers

Invest in Air Purifiers

Air purifiers can help filter out airborne pollutants, such as dust, pollen, and pet dander. Look for a HEPA air purifier, which is highly effective at removing particles from the air

Harsh-Chemicals

Don't Use Cleaners with Harsh Chemicals

Many household cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can release harmful fumes into the air. Opt instead for natural or eco-friendly cleaning products to reduce indoor air pollution.

HVAC-System

Keep Your HVAC System Well Maintained

Schedule regular maintenance for your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to ensure that it is operating efficiently and not circulating pollutants throughout your home.

Air Duct Sanitizing at American Air LLC Explained

The process of sanitizing and deodorizing your air ducts is meticulous and requires qualified, skilled technicians. Here's how we do it at American Air LLC:

  • Deep Clean: Our technicians begin by performing a comprehensive cleaning of your air duct system. Utilizing powerful vacuum equipment and specialized tools, we first work to clear out the ducts, eliminating all physical contaminants.
  • Apply Sanitizing Solution: Next, we use an EPA-registered sanitizer and disinfectant for air ducts, applying it throughout the entire system. This specially formulated product is designed to be safe for HVAC systems while effectively targeting a wide range of bacteria and viruses.
  • Complete Duct Coverage: The sanitizing solution is distributed throughout your ductwork using specialized foggers and various precision application tools. This process ensures that every inch of the interior surface is thoroughly covered. The fogger creates a fine mist that penetrates hard-to-reach areas, while the additional tools allow for targeted application in spaces where typical methods might not be effective.

When the Marietta Blue Devils (Ga.) get into the beginning stages of their 2026 Georgia high school football season, they’ll be packing their bags and heading across the pond.

The Blue Devils’ football program posted on their official handle Tuesday night, announcing that they will face NFL Academy next 2026 season on Aug. 21 in Loughborough, United Kingdom.

NFL Academy faced three teams from the United States this past season, with the England-based team facing , and St. Thomas Aquinas. The performance academy traveled to the United States for the games against the Eagles and Ascenders, respectively, while the Raiders visited London and played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The NFL Academy’s headquarters in London is over at Loughborough University, with the other location for the elite football development campuses second located on the Gold Coast in Australia.

This matchup continues the series of high school football programs from the Southeast United States traveling overseas to take on the NFL Academy, with the latest two schools being Edgewater, IMG Academy and St. Thomas Aquinas. In 2024, the Fighting Eagles traveled from Orlando to the United Kingdom and won a wild 51-45 contest against the elite performance academy.

When it comes to playing some of the top high school football programs out of the United States, NFL Academy has sought out the best competition, with the academy facing the likes of such as Edgewater, Massillon (Ohio), De La Salle (Calif.), IMG Academy and St. Thomas Aquinas. NFL Academy currently holds an overall record of 2-8 against American-based teams, but is unbeaten against European opponents.

The connection between Marietta and NFL Academy could stem from the relationship forged by Blue Devils’ head coach Cam Duke, who faced the elite football team in 2024 when he was at Edgewater. Now coaching in Georgia, Duke will get the opportunity to take his new team across the Atlantic Ocean.

Marietta went 5-6 in Duke’s first season at the helm as the Blue Devils qualified for Georgia’s GHSA Class 6A postseason.

MARIETTA, Ga., Oct. 17, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- What are the signs of an aging roof? A recent featuring Roofing Expert Emerson Reeves of Emerson Home Services Roofing in Marietta, GA, provides a detailed answer. The piece explains how homeowners can recognize subtle warnings long before a roof begins to fail. Reeves offers clear, practical guidance that helps residents prevent costly repairs by identifying quiet but critical changes in their roof’s condition.

According to the HelloNation article, most homeowners overlook early signs that a roof is wearing out until visible leaks or missing shingles appear. Reeves explains that roofs often begin to show minor symptoms of wear years before significant damage occurs. By learning how to spot these early indicators, homeowners can address issues before they escalate into major structural problems or insurance claims.

Reeves notes that the condition of asphalt shingles often gives the first clues. As they age, exposure to sunlight dries out the protective oils, leading to curling edges or surface cracking. These small changes may seem harmless, but they often signal that the shingles have started losing their ability to repel water. When wind or rain seeps under lifted edges, the resulting moisture can slowly weaken the underlying roof structure. For homeowners wondering, “How do I know my roof is wearing out?” Reeves recommends inspecting shingle surfaces closely each year, especially after hot Georgia summers.

The article also points to gutters as a key diagnostic tool. When homeowners find coarse, sand-like particles collecting in downspouts, it usually means that the shingle granules are shedding. Reeves explains that these granules protect shingles from ultraviolet light and temperature fluctuations. Their loss accelerates deterioration, particularly in climates like Marietta’s. If the question “Why are granules in my gutters?” comes to mind, the answer is clear: those granules are evidence that the roof is aging and may need attention soon.

Beyond shingles and gutters, other quiet signs can appear in shaded roof sections. Moss and algae growth are common in humid areas, and both indicate lingering moisture. Reeves emphasizes that moss holds water against shingles, causing them to soften and decay. Algae, though less harmful, still suggests poor drainage and prolonged dampness. “What causes moss on a roof?” often comes down to shade, humidity, and time, all of which can be managed with regular cleaning and inspection, especially on north-facing slopes that receive less sun.

Inside the home, early roof problems can reveal themselves through subtle changes. The HelloNation article explains that brown stains on ceilings, peeling paint near roof edges, or damp insulation in the attic can all signal water infiltration. Even small leaks allow moisture to seep into wooden framing, fostering mold and weakening the structure. Reeves advises that no leak is ever truly minor once water begins to spread through the roof system.

Another indicator comes from temperature changes indoors. Uneven heating or cooling in upper rooms may suggest that insulation or ventilation under the roof is no longer working efficiently. When a roof loses its ability to breathe properly, trapped heat and moisture can cause materials to degrade faster. Homeowners may also notice higher energy bills as the roof’s thermal performance declines.

Sound, too, can be a quiet communicator. Reeves points out that rattling or flapping noises during high winds often mean loose shingles or weakened flashing. These noises are easy to dismiss, but they frequently signal that nails or adhesive have failed. After each major storm, Reeves advises walking around the property to look for missing shingles or fragments that may have landed in the yard.

Age remains one of the most reliable indicators of roof condition. Most asphalt roofs last between twenty and twenty-five years, but Marietta’s intense heat and heavy rainfall can shorten that lifespan. Reeves explains that if a roof is nearing two decades old, even without visible damage, it should be inspected by a professional. For anyone asking, “How long does a roof last in Marietta?” the answer depends largely on maintenance habits and climate exposure.

Preventive maintenance plays a major role in extending roof life. Reeves recommends cleaning gutters twice a year, trimming overhanging branches, and inspecting flashing around vents and chimneys. Regular maintenance helps prevent strain on older materials and can delay the need for full replacement. Homeowners should also establish a routine for visual inspections after major storms, using photos or notes to track gradual wear over time.

Reeves’s guidance reinforces that roof failures rarely happen suddenly. Instead, roofs communicate their condition through a series of quiet signals that careful homeowners can learn to read. From curled shingles to subtle attic leaks, these early signs provide valuable time to plan repairs or replacement before damage escalates. Understanding how to tell if shingles are curling or recognizing when granules appear in gutters allows homeowners to act proactively rather than reactively.

In the HelloNation feature, Reeves makes it clear that paying attention to small details can save thousands in future repairs. Homeowners who understand their roof’s aging process can better protect their property from water damage and avoid emergencies. Roofs do not fail overnight; they whisper first, through signs that are easy to miss but easy to understand once you know what to look for.

Halloween isn't the only major event on the calendar this month. 'No Kings Day' is making a return on Saturday, Oct. 14 with a ton of protests against President Donald Trump scheduled across the nation.

Is Athens on that list? Here's what we know:

What is No Kings Day?

When it first started, 'No Kings' describes itself as a nationwide day of defiance by multiple groups including Indivisible, 50501, and Stand Up America. The first was on June 14 (Flag Day and Trump's birthday) in opposition to the big military parade he had planned.

While no such parade is happening again, organizers have said they are doing another because they believe Trump's actions continue to reflect fascist policies, especially his sending the National Guard into cities uninvited.

Will there be a No Kings event in Athens?

There will technically be two No Kings events in Athens. The first is 12-2 p.m. involving banners and sign waving along the Prince Avenue/Jefferson Road overpass and along Prince Avenue heading downtown.

The second is being called "The People's Tailgate" on the UGA North Campus where volunteers will be handing out stickers and brochures. Set-up is at 10:30 a.m. and they will be welcoming visitors from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For those willing to make the drive to Atlanta, there are several other No Kings events on the schedule.

Where are No Kings events happening in Georgia?

Each event will look different depending on who is organizing it. Some may be simply flag-waving rallies, while others will be marches or full-on sign-waving protests. More than 30 are confirmed in Georgia:
